Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift contract in Alabama. Requires travel experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

The role covers a 49-bed Med/Surg unit with a 1:6-7 patient ratio, 12-hour nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, and a demanding weekend/holiday rotation. Candidates must have current BLS/ACLS and Epic EMR experience.

Qualifications

• Active AL or compact RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Pass Basic and Advanced Dysrhythmia test with 80%+.
• Full date of birth and SSN required.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg unit in a 49-bed hospital.
• Caseload 1:6-7 patients.
• 12-hour night shifts 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, 36 hrs/wk.
• Every other weekend rotation.
• Weekend and holiday rotation.
• Floating to units within competencies.
• No on-call required.
• No block or self-scheduling.
• Provide direct Med/Surg patient care.
• Scrub color provided on arrival.
• Fingerprinting must start within 48 hours of offer.
• Cannot have worked perm or per diem here in last 12 months.
• Masks required if decline vaccines; not required otherwise.
• Maintain full availability and scheduling flexibility.
• All compliance documents due 7 days before start.
• Local candidates accepted.
• Radius rate applies by distance from facility.

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a pre-assignment Basic and Advanced Dysrhythmia (rhythm strip) test with a minimum score of 80%
• Full date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg unit in a 49-bed hospital facility
• Patient ratio of 1:6-7
• 12-hour night shift (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
