Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift travel position in North Carolina. The role requires at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience and 1 completed travel assignment.

The nurse must hold an active RN license (NC or Compact) with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS, and be able to start IVs, insert Foley catheters and NG tubes, and manage high patient turnover on a 1:6 unit.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) in hand.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum 1 year Med/Surg experience.
• At least 1 completed travel assignment.
• Must be able to start IVs, insert Foley catheters, and NG tubes.
• Experience performing EKGs and managing heparin drips.
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratios and high patient turnover preferred.

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical Combination unit in a 205 licensed-bed hospital.
• 48-bed unit with 1:6 patient ratio and high patient turnover.
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call requirements.
• Rare floating possible to inpatient rehab or ER for task-based assignments.
• Uses Paragon EHR.
• Work in a Duke LifePoint, Joint Commission accredited hospital with an 'A' LeapFrog Hospital Safety Rating.
• Facility features the region's largest and most comprehensive ED plus a free-standing ED.
• Facility houses the region's largest and most advanced ICU and PCU.
• Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate.
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months.
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment.
