American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift in a busy obstetrics unit in Indiana. You will provide high-quality care across labor, delivery, and postpartum, including C-sections and neonatal support, with Cerner charting and standard obstetric procedures.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in L&D, active IN license, and certifications (BLS, ACLS, NRP, FHM). This traveler role offers housing allowance and travel benefits.

Competenze

• Active IN license or compact license in hand prior to start.
• Requires BLS, ACLS, NRP, and FHM.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience.
• Cerner charting experience required.
• Community hospital experience preferred; charge experience preferred.
• Experience with Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives.
• Grad from ACEN/CCNE-accredited nursing program.
• 2 supervisor references; SSN and DOB required.

Mansioni

• Labor and Delivery unit duties in a Short-Term Acute Care hospital.
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:00–06:30.
• Care for labor, induction, scheduled/unscheduled C-sections, HRT cases.

Requirements

• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and FHM certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Charge experience preferred
• Skilled in high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulation/recovery, fetal monitoring, and management of conditions such as preeclampsia, PPROM, and preterm labor
• Experience with medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Graduated from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit in a Short-Term Acute Care hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:00 to 06:30
• Cares for patients across labor, induction, scheduled and unscheduled C-sections, C-section with salpingectomy, SROM, PPROM, hypertension, preeclampsia, antepartum, and triage patients
• Follows AWHONN staffing guidelines with typical ratios of 1:1 for active labor, 1:2 for non-active labor, and 1:3 for triage or antepartum patients
• Additional patients may be assigned during high-volume periods
• Uses CADD epidural pumps, Alaris IV pumps, Phillips wired and wireless monitoring, Periwatch, Hillrom labor beds, Draeger Radiant warmers, vein light, and v-scan
• Charting completed in Cerner
• MCH float required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, antepartum, and postpartum nursing care
• Assist with high-risk and low-risk deliveries, C-sections, and newborn care including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
• Support breastfeeding, discharge teaching, and postpartum recovery
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must complete a consecutive eligibility break (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents) before reapplying
