Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a Level IV Trauma critical access hospital in Alaska. Active AK RN license and at least 1 year of L&D experience required.

Shifts are 3x12 with day and night schedules; weekends required; there is no on-call. Facility housing is provided, with travel and licensure reimbursements. First-time travelers are welcome; local candidates not accepted.

Epic charting is used; expect to float within the region as needed and to work holidays as required.

Qualifications

• Active AK RN license required.
• Current ACLS, BLS, NRP and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required.
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year Labor & Delivery experience required.
• Epic charting experience preferred.
• Skills in IV therapy, fetal monitoring, labor/delivery management, neonatal care and postpartum care required.
• Experience with high-risk deliveries and hemorrhage/shock management preferred.
• Must provide SSN and DOB for compliance.
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment in the last 3 years required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a Level IV Trauma, Critical Access hospital.
• 3x12 variable shifts; day and night schedules; weekends required.
• No on-call requirements; float within scope as needed.
• Use Epic charting system; provide labor, delivery, postpartum and newborn care.
• May float between sister facilities within the region; assist during holidays.

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a Level IV Trauma critical access hospital, requiring an active AK RN license and at least 1 year of L&D experience.

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• At least 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, fetal monitoring, labor and delivery management, neonatal care, and postpartum care required
• Experience with high-risk deliveries, hemorrhage/shock management, and medication administration (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives) preferred
• Must provide SSN and DOB for compliance
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Responsibilities

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of an acute care medical center with Level IV Trauma and Critical Access designation
• 3x12 variable shifts, both day (7:00-19:00) and night (19:00-7:00) schedules available
• Weekend shifts required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care including fetal monitoring, medication administration, and patient education
• May be required to float between sister facilities within the region
• Candidates must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN
• Local candidates not accepted; candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• RTO requests should be submitted upfront and are considered on a case-by-case basis
• Facility provides housing, typically a 1-bedroom apartment, available for single traveler occupancy with facility approval needed for additional guests
• Scrub color is flexible or business casual attire accepted
• Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
