Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for Labor & Delivery / OB in Alaska. Active AK RN license and at least 2 years of LDRP experience are required. Certifications in BLS, NRP, STABLE and HS AED, plus Advanced Fetal Monitoring, are essential for this role.

The position features a 12-hour night shift in an acute OB/L&D unit with on-site training, targeted nursing processes, and access to comprehensive EMR systems (EPIC, Meditech, OBIX). Housing and travel reimbursements available.

Qualifications

• Active AK RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP experience
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE, HS AED
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the OB/L&D unit in an acute care setting
• Unit includes 4 LDRP rooms and 5 Nursery/Postpartum beds
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios per national standards
• 12-hour night shift
• Chart with EPIC EMR; use Meditech, OBIX, Pyxis and bedside fetal monitors
• No floating to other units
• Deliver individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process and primary nursing principles
• Follow departmental, hospital, and standard nursing policies
• Unit training includes Meditech/OBIX training and unit orientation
• Medication testing completed onsite within two weeks
• COVID vaccination or declination; masked if unvaccinated
• Accepts local candidates at the same bill rate
• DNU check disclosure for returning travelers with prior employment at this facility
• Facility may cancel up to 24 hours within a 13-week contract without penalty

• Scrubs provided as part of dress code
• Unit-specific training includes 3-day Meditech and OBIX training plus unit orientation

• Returning travelers with prior employment at this facility must disclose it for a DNU check
