American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a Level 3 high-risk facility. The role requires Cerner EMR experience and advanced fetal monitoring certification, with a NV license and 2+ years in L&D.

Night shifts with every other weekend, 50+ mile residency requirement, and no-call policy accompany a comprehensive benefits package including housing reimbursement and travel/licensure support.

• Active NV RN license required; compact licenses accepted.
• Certifications ACLS, BLS, AFM and NRP required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in labor/delivery.
• Ability to read fetal monitor strips and titrate drips.
• Cerner EMR experience required.

Responsabilidades

• Manage care in a 17-bed L&D unit with 2 ORs and 16 postpartum beds.
• Follow AWHONN guidelines with 2:1/1:1 ratios for laboring/high-risk patients.
• Circulate and recover own C-section patients; in-house OB/Neonatologist 24/7.
• Titrate drips (Magnesium, Pitocin, Insulin, Heparin) as ordered.
• Travel orientation and unit staffing protocols observed.

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a Level 3 high-risk facility requiring Cerner EMR experience and advanced fetal monitoring certification.

Requirements

• Active NV RN license (Standard or Compact) required, pending licenses not accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM), and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Must be independent and confident with vaginal exams, internal monitor placement, high-risk laboring/delivery patients, and antepartum patients
• Must be able to effectively read fetal monitor strips
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility

Responsibilities

• Work in a 17-bed L&D unit with 2 OR suites, 4 triage beds, and 16 postpartum beds at a Level 3 high-risk facility
• Unit averages approximately 250 births per month
• Follows AWHONN guidelines with ratios of 2:1 for normal laboring moms, 1:1 for high-risk labors, 4:1 couplet care, and 2:1-4:1 for antepartum depending on acuity
• Nurses circulate and recover their own C-Section patients
• OB/Neonatologist and anesthesia in house 24/7
• RNs required to titrate drips including Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, Insulin, and Heparin
• Uses Cerner charting system and Cerner EFM system
• Night shift schedule with every other weekend required
• Floating to Mother-Baby unit required as needed
• No call or standby requirement
• 3-day unit-specific orientation for travelers
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year
• Candidates previously employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
• Navy blue scrubs required, with light blue OR scrubs provided for nurse use in surgical settings
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Charge nurse only takes an assignment if the unit is at maximum capacity and no additional help is available
• Unit staffed with Certified Surgical Techs and Secretaries as ancillary support
• Uses a TEAM self-scheduling system balanced by a scheduling committee
