Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 19-bed high-acuity unit in Florida. The role requires 2+ years of L&D experience, an active Florida license, and prior travel nursing experience. 12-hour night shifts, 3 per week, with patient ratios from 1:2 to 1:1 for high-acuity cases.

On-call obligations exist, and travelers must float to sister campuses within 15–20 minutes. Onboarding starts Friday with badge in-person, and housing assistance plus travel reimbursements

Qualifications

• Active FL or compact RN license is required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications are required.
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course completion required.
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring course and EFM certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years Labor & Delivery experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Nursing degree accreditation must be documented, or candidate must have 5 years of experience.
• Driver's license address must match Board of Nursing on file.

Responsibilities

• 19-bed Labor & Delivery unit.
• 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week.
• Patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:1 for high acuity patients.
• On-call requirement of 12 hours within a 6-week period.
• EMR system used is Epic.
• Floating required, with travelers prioritized to float across sister campuses within 15–20 minutes.
• Provide direct patient care to high-acuity Labor & Delivery patients.
• Travelers expected to integrate and function as core staff within the unit.
• Scrub colors: Galaxy Blue and/or White.
• Orientation begins Friday with in-person badge/ID, remainder completed remotely.
• RTO must be submitted upfront; no post-start approvals.
• Hard document deadline is the Monday before start with no exceptions.
• Must reside within 50 miles radius of the facility; property ownership within radius prohibited.
• Full-time local housing within the area is expected for duration of assignment.

• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront, as it will not be approved after start
• Hard document deadline is the Monday prior to start with no exceptions for pending documentation
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility, with strict enforcement of this requirement
• Candidates must not own or co-sign property within the 50-mile radius
• Full-time local housing within the area is expected for the duration of the assignment
