Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery in Minnesota. Requires 2+ years L&D/postpartum and NRP, with night shift (3x12 hours, 1900-0730) and Epic charting. Active MN RN license and BLS/NRP are required; some AWHONN certifications preferred.

Open to travelers; housing and travel reimbursements offered. First-time travelers welcome; 100+ miles from facility preferred. | Open positions: 1.

Qualifications

• Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted).
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required; AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience with postpartum experience required.
• Sterile vaginal exam experience required.
• Fetal monitoring skills including external/ internal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
• Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) required.
• Experience managing and administering epidural anesthesia required.
• Pain management and nitrous oxide skills preferred.
• Minimum one supervisor reference required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Mother Baby Center, covering both Labor and Delivery and postpartum units.
• Average daily census of 8 deliveries per day and 15 postpartum patients per day.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (1900-0730).
• Required to work every other weekend.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed.
• Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system.
• Provide nursing care across both labor and postpartum settings within the Mother Baby Center.
• Teaching hospital and Level 2 Trauma Center setting with 258 staffed beds.
• Scrubs provided by the unit.
• No parking fees at this facility.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered.
• RTO ideally limited to no more than 5 days.
• Candidates must be gone at least 3 months since their last shift worked as a perm staff or per diem employee at this facility.
