Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift assignment in Albuquerque, NM. Requires AWHONN Intermediate certification and a minimum of 2 years in L&D with NM or Compact licensure.

Typically 3x12-hour nights (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with a 1:2 patient ratio, floating as needed, and 4–6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks. Housing allowance, day-one insurance, and travel/licensure reimbursements support travelers.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending NM/Compact accepted if obtained prior to start.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred, pending certs accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required, not including new graduate orientation
• Experience with any electronic charting system required, Epic experience preferred
• Experience maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC) and performing IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit with 100-200 facility births per month
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), with option for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Weekend requirement of 4-6 shifts per 6-week period
• Floating to like units within scope required as needed, with brief orientation provided
• Handles antepartum care, high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-section circulating and recovery, and fetal monitoring
• Performs sterile vaginal exams, obstetrical triage, and external fetal heart monitoring
• Administers medications including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
• Scrubs provided
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Limited RTO auto-approval, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
