Description

American Traveler is hiring a Burn ICU RN for night shifts requiring 2 years of ICU experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Burn ICU unit within a hospital setting
• Unit performs wound care, pain management, line placement, and assists with intubation
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM), with 36 or 48-hour weekly options
• EOW (every other weekend) required
• Floating required to like units within scope as needed, with brief orientation provided
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active OK state or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Certifications required in hand: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Respiratory skills required including chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and suctioning
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and management of chronic/acute renal failure required
• Experience administering continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, procedural sedation, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, phlebotomy, and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to burn ICU patients including wound care, pain management, and assistance with line placement and intubation
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted
• Former staff must be separated from permanent employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• RTO must be submitted at time of application, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none permitted during the first week of orientation
