Description

American Traveler is seeking an ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 1.5-2 years of ICU experience and an active NM or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the ICU, with a Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU emphasis
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Floating required to like units within scope, with brief orientation provided

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required prior to start
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS and NIHSS; BLS preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care required
• Skilled in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Experience managing continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and titrating cardiac/vasoactive drips required
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and EVD care required; ICP monitoring and post-neurosurgery management preferred
• Knowledge of infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, phlebotomy, and dysrhythmia management required
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and IV insulin protocols required
• Epic charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing services within Neuro and Surgical ICU settings
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as locals are not accepted
• Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Onsite orientation includes required non-billable modules (average 4-6 hours for RNs)
