American Traveler, LLC is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift at a California teaching hospital. Requirements include active CA RN licensure and at least 2 years in ICU with critical care skills such as ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring.

The role involves 3x12-hour nights, floating to multiple Sutter Health facilities as needed, and on-call duties. Epic EMR experience and a willingness to work within a fast-paced, teaching-hospital environment are essential.

Formación

• Active CA RN license.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (TNCC preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience.
• Epic EMR experience.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, and PICC line management.
• Ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube assistance, and suctioning.
• CVVHD/CRRT and renal failure management experience.
• Sedation and vasoactive drips management.
• CVA/stroke, EVD, ICP monitoring, post-neurosurgery care.
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and Swan-Ganz monitoring.
• ECMO and FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring preferred.
• Infection prevention, PPE, massive transfusion protocol.
• IV insulin protocol experience.
• Two supervisor references within the past year required.

Responsabilidades

• ICU setting within a hospital, with initial training at a new MS-ICU unit opening 1/05/2027.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM).
• Orientation for the first week at Davies or MBC campus before transitioning to the primary location.
• Floating required to CPMC sister campuses (Mission Bernal, Davies) based on census and staffing needs, within scope of practice.
• Every other weekend required.
• On-call required as needed.
• 1:1 patient ratio.
• Epic charting system experience required.
• Medical and Surgical Intensive Care Unit work settings.
• Provide critical care nursing to medical and surgical ICU patients, including management of complex multisystem organ dysfunction.
• Work alongside a care team within a teaching hospital environment.
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local candidate consideration at local rate.
• Limited to no RTO accepted during the contract.
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved.
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
• Returning travelers must have a one-year separation before reapplying.
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role.
• Candidates may only apply to one Sutter Health facility at a time.
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing.
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates.

Requirements

• Skills in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, and PICC line management
• Respiratory skills including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube assistance, and suctioning
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and acute/chronic renal failure management
• Medication management including continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Neurological care experience including CVA/stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery care
• Cardiovascular skills including dysrhythmia interpretation/management, Swan Ganz monitoring, and sheath removal
• Experience with ECMO and FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring preferred
• Knowledge of infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, and massive transfusion protocol
• IV insulin protocol experience
