Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position in California. The role requires CA RN licensure and prior travel nursing experience, with a 13-week assignment and a 3x12-hour night schedule (19:00-07:30).

1:2 patient ratio, weekend coverage, and on-call duties are included. Candidates should have active CA RN license, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS certifications, and 3+ years ICU experience, plus 6 months travel nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill ICU patients, including ventilator and hemodynamic management.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring CA RN licensure and prior travel nursing experience.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 3 years of RN ICU experience required
• Minimum 6 months of travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Proficiency in a wide range of ICU skills including ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, CRRT, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction
• Experience with specialized cardiovascular procedures such as IABP, Impella, TAVR, and post cardiac cath care preferred
• Must obtain updated Nysys licensure verification and upload within 2 weeks of submission
• Must provide 2 professional references obtained within the past year

Responsibilities

• ICU setting within a hospital environment
• 13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Every other weekend required, plus additional weekends based on unit needs
• As-needed on-call responsibilities
• May float to other units within scope of practice or to other campus locations with as little as 1.5 hours notice
• Shuttle service provided for inter-campus floating
• Provide direct patient care to critically ill ICU patients including ventilator and hemodynamic management
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Max RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
• Returning travelers must have a minimum 1-year separation before reapplying
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
• Compliance documents due 10 days prior to start date
• Lab work must be completed within 3-5 days of contract signing
• Re-orientation required only if previously oriented at this facility and separated for 6+ months
