Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment in California. Active CA RN license and at least 2 years ICU experience are required. Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications, plus ventilated patient care and chest tube management, are essential.

Responsibilities include 3x12 hour nights (19:00–07:00) in a hospital ICU with a 1:2 patient ratio, EPIC EMR preferred, and potential float to sister facilities. Travel housing and licensure reimbursement provided.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license in hand at submission.
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Ventilator patient care experience.
• Chest tube insertion/removal experience.
• Respiratory/thoracic care experience.
• Two professional references covering 1 year within last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Work in the ICU of a hospital setting.
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–07:00.
• Patient ratio 1:2.
• Epic EMR experience preferred.
• Floating between sister facilities may be required.
• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients, including respiratory and thoracic cases.
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays.
• Candidates reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates may have a lower bill rate.
• Former staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period if outside 50 miles.
• Only one submission to a Providence Health System location/position at a time.
• All RTO/scheduling requests must be submitted upfront.
• Infection prevention and PPE knowledge.
• CVICU/Neuro ICU or related subspecialties experience preferred.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required, must be in hand at submission
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Experience with care of ventilated patients required
• Experience assisting with chest tube insertion/removal required
• Respiratory/thoracic care experience required
• 2 professional references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required

Responsibilities

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Floating between sister facilities may be required
• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients, including respiratory and thoracic cases
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the facility, though local candidates are accepted at a lower bill rate
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live outside the 50-mile radius
• Only one submission to a Providence Health System location/position is allowed at a time
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront, as post-submission requests may not be granted
• Infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE knowledge required
• Experience in CVICU, Neuro ICU, or related subspecialties (CVA/stroke management, ICP monitoring, post-craniotomy, post-neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury) is preferred
