Job summary

American Traveler Staffing Professionals is seeking an ICU RN for a Critical Care Float role in Madison, WI, requiring a WI or compact RN license and Level I trauma center experience.

You will float across Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, and Trauma Surgery units, with 3x12-hour nights and coverage every other weekend. Epic EMR experience is essential, with strong emphasis on telemetry and complex critical care skills.

Qualifications

  • WI or compact RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certification (AHA only) required
  • NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
  • 5 years of overall nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience in an academic Level I trauma center required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
  • Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience with ECMO, IABP, Impella, and CVP monitoring
  • Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and IV insulin protocols
  • Skilled in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
  • Experience managing neuro patients including EVD, ICP monitoring, and stroke care
  • Must pass a telemetry certification exam prior to starting the assignment, with strict passing criteria for both adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation

Responsibilities

  • Telemetry exam allows two attempts to pass; a third attempt requires completion of a cardiac interpretation review course
  • Travel experience in an academic Level I trauma center required
