American Traveler, LLC is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in Illinois, requiring ventilator, hemodynamic monitoring, and drip titration skills. The role emphasizes critical care nursing in a six-bed ICU with 12-hour nights (7p-7a) and a 36-hour guaranteed week.

Applicants must hold an IL RN license, current BLS and ACLS, and have at least 1 year of ICU experience. PALS/NIHSS are preferred. EPIC EMR experience is used on this unit.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience
• Care for patients on ventilators, temporary pacemakers, and balloon pumps
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and BiPAP
• Must be able to titrate drips (Cardizem, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin, levophed, vasopressin, nitroglycerin, nicardipine, neosynephrine)
• BSN not required
• Must produce a negative drug screen for all panels

Aufgaben

• 6-bed ICU unit with 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Common diagnoses include STEMI, 3rd degree heart block, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, sepsis, COVID and flu
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• 12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Floating to Med Surg, ED, or BHC as needed
• No on-call requirement; rare low-census occurrences
• Telemetry/monitor techs available; RNs sign off on strips three times per shift
• Charge Nurse and House Supervisor support on unit
• Nurse Aides 1:6 ratio
• PT/OT/SLP and pulmonary/cardiac rehab services available
• Respiratory Therapy supports from nasal cannula to ventilator management
• Provide critical care nursing across cardiac, respiratory, infectious diagnoses
• Day shift RNs attend team conferences for inpatient rehab
• One full shift orientation plus 12 hours non-billable orientation
• Scrubs of any color; closed-toed shoes; good hygiene
• COVID vaccination not required
• Local rate within 50 miles of facility; no radius restriction
• Time-off requests submitted for consideration
• Cancellation policy allows up to 12 hours per 13-week assignment without penalty

• Tele/monitor techs available 24/7; RNs sign off on strips three times per shift
• Charge Nurse and House Supervisor support available on unit
• Nurse Aides present on unit at 1:6 ratio
• PT/OT/SLP and pulmonary/cardiac rehab services available
• Respiratory Therapy support ranges from nasal cannula to ventilator management
• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients across a range of acute cardiac, respiratory, and infectious diagnoses
• Day shift RNs required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehab
• One full shift of department-specific orientation provided, including an orientation binder
• 12 hours of non-billable orientation required
• Scrubs of any color accepted; closed-toed shoes and good personal hygiene required
• COVID vaccination not required for this facility
• Local rate applies for clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility; no radius rule restricts eligibility
• Requested time off must be submitted for consideration
• Cancellation policy allows up to 12 hours per 13-week assignment without penalty
