Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 12-week night contract in Illinois. Candidates must have at least 2 years of ICU experience and EPIC charting proficiency.

IL RN license, BLS/ACLS, and NIHSS certification are required. Travel references preferred; new grads will not be considered. The role involves night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with 1:2 or 1:3 patient ratios, potential cross-unit float, and limited RTO for the contract duration.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license is required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA preferred; ARC accepted for BLS).
• NIHSS certification is required.
• Minimum 2 years of strong ICU experience; 5+ years preferred.
• EPIC charting experience required and must be reflected in employment history.
• New graduates not accepted.
• Two current professional references from a Supervisor/Manager/Charge within the last year; travel reference preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Hospital ICU setting.
• Maintain patient ratio of 1:2, sometimes 1:3; night shift 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Rotate to other inpatient units as needed (MS/TEL/IMCU).
• No on-call requirements; occasional weekend and Holiday coverage.
• Must be willing to float and support unit staffing as needed.
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days for 13-week contracts.

• Two current professional references from a Supervisor/Manager/Charge in the relevant specialty area within the last year, with at least one travel reference preferred

Responsibilities

• Hospital Intensive Care Unit setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2, sometimes 1:3
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Must be willing to float to other inpatient units, including MS/TEL/IMCU
• No on-call requirements
• Provide direct patient care within a fast-paced ICU environment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Facility conducts a brief 10-15 minute interview prior to placement
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must have a 12-month break in service to be considered as a traveler
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days for 13-week contracts
