Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced GI/Endoscopy RN for an outpatient endoscopy unit in Wisconsin. Requires pre/post-op and advanced GI case experience, with call rotation.

Active WI or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS, and a minimum of 2 years in related nursing roles are required. Excellence in patient recovery and post-op care is essential for success in this fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • Active WI license or compact license required.
  • BLS and ACLS (AHA) certification required.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
  • Pre/post-op and recovery experience required.
  • Advanced GI case and MAC experience required.
  • Conscious sedation experience preferred.
  • Call eligibility limited to those with advanced case and conscious sedation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Outpatient GI/Endoscopy unit within a Level 2 trauma center.
  • 10 procedure/OR rooms (8 outpatient, 2 inpatient) with ~30 cases per day.
  • Procedures include EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, dilations, and food impactions.
  • Uses Cerner EMR, transitioning to Epic.
  • Four 9-hour day shifts weekly (0730-1700 or 0830-1800) with a weekly day off.
  • May stay late to complete cases or recover patients.
  • 24/7 call rotation on 8–9 week cycles, ~1–2 weekends per contract.
  • Holiday call required on rotation and 45–60 min call response.
  • No floating required.
  • Provide nursing care across GI and endoscopy procedures.

Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced GI/Endoscopy RN for an outpatient endoscopy unit requiring pre/post-op and advanced GI case experience with call rotation.

Responsibilities
  • Outpatient GI/Endoscopy unit within a Level 2 trauma center

  • Common procedures include EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, dilations, and food impactions
  • Uses Cerner EMR, currently transitioning to Epic
  • Four 9-hour day shifts weekly (0730-1700 or 0830-1800) with a day off each week
  • May be required to stay late to complete cases or recover patients
  • Call rotation for 24/7 coverage on an 8-9 week rotation, approximately 1-2 weekends per contract
  • Holiday call required on rotation
  • Call response time of 45-60 minutes
  • No floating required
  • Provide nursing care across a variety of GI and endoscopy procedures
  • Facility supplies scrubs
  • Unit-specific orientation provided in addition to 8 hours of general orientation
  • Former permanent staff must have separated from the facility for at least 6 months and receive hospital approval to return
  • Local candidates are considered, with local status defined as a permanent address within 80 miles of the facility
