Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy outpatient clinic position requiring NC or compact RN license and at least one year of nursing experience. Day shift, no weekends or on-call.

The role involves pre-op/post-op care, GI procedures, patient prep, IV starts, sedation, and discharge planning within a hospital system. Outpatient setting with growth opportunities and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina (NC or compact)
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required; ACLS also required per department compliance
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required; two years required if primarily outpatient background
• Experience caring for patients with complex medical, psychosocial, and safety needs
• Strong communication, discharge planning, and patient education skills

Responsibilities

• Outpatient GI Multispecialty Surgery Clinic setting within a hospital system
• Provides care across pre-op, post-op, burn, wound, GI acute care, and plastics areas
• Performs outpatient GI procedures including bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, endo stent placement, esophageal dilation, esophageal varices and banding, EGD hot and cold biopsy, and PEG tube insertion
• Responsible for patient prep, starting IVs, specimen handling, and sedation administration/recovery
• Day shift schedule from 8:00am to 5:00pm, 5 days per week, 40 hours weekly
• No weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements
• Delivers nursing care across the full patient care process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
• Participates in unit performance improvement activities and professional development
• Demonstrates cultural competency and sensitivity in planning patient care
• Maintains a safe, clean, and secure clinical environment
