Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department role requiring 3+ years of ER experience and travel nursing expertise. Licensed in TX/Compact RN, with BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC/ NIHSS certifications, you’ll work in a Level II Trauma Center with 1:4 patient ratios and 11:00–23:00 shifts (3x12 or 4x12).

Travel experience and trauma care in high-volume facilities are preferred. Responsibilities include treating adult and pediatric emergencies across multiple specialties,

Qualifications

  • Active TX or compact RN license required.
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS.
  • Minimum 3 years of ER experience required, or 2 years if gained in a high-volume or trauma facility.
  • Previous travel nursing experience required.
  • Preferred experience in Trauma Level II settings.
  • Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation.
  • Experience with emergency medications, IV therapy, and phlebotomy.
  • Experience managing psychiatric and behavioral health patients preferred.
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, and ABG interpretation preferred.
  • Experience with neurological trauma and ICP monitoring preferred.
  • Experience managing orthopedic trauma and applying splints preferred.
  • Skilled in isolation precautions and PPE use.

Responsibilities

  • General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients.
  • Level II Trauma Center with STEMI and Stroke certification.
  • Patient ratio of 1:4.
  • Day shift schedules including 3x12 and 4x12 hour options from 11:00 to 23:00.
  • Alternating 36/48 hour biweekly schedule totaling 84 hours.
  • EPIC charting system experience preferred.
  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of pediatric, psychiatric, neurological, orthopedic, and trauma cases.
  • Respond to shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations.
  • Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure.
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility, and local candidates are not accepted.
  • Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, and a positive result results in automatic cancellation.
  • Must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer, or have a documented plan in place.
  • License must be in hand prior to start date.
  • No first-time travelers accepted.
