Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level II trauma center experience and a CT or compact RN license. The role involves 12-hour day shifts, a Level II trauma setting, and Cerner charting, with travel pay structure based on distance.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years ED experience, current ACLS/BLS/PALS/TNCC, and IV therapy proficiency. Inner-city trauma exposure and nursing leadership experience are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license (CT or Compact) required.
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, and TNCC.
  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience required.
  • Experience in a Level I or Level II trauma facility required.
  • Level II Trauma experience required, Level I preferred.
  • Cerner charting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients.
  • Level II Trauma Center serving an inner city population.
  • Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Patient ratio of 1:4.
  • 12-hour day shifts from 07:00-19:30, with 36 or 48 hours accepted.
  • Every other weekend coverage required.
  • Uses Accudose and Omnicell medication systems.
  • Documentation completed in Cerner.
  • Uses SBAR communication system.
  • Provide emergency care within a Level II Trauma Center setting.
  • Dark blue scrubs required.
  • First time travelers are welcome to apply.
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate.
  • Must reside outside a 75-mile radius to qualify for travel pay rate.

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level II trauma center experience and a CT or compact RN license.


Requirements
  • Active RN license (CT or Compact) required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, and TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
  • Experience in a Level I or Level II trauma facility required
  • Level II Trauma experience required, Level I preferred
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and LTAC experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
  • Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs
  • Experience with neurological and CVA patient care
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Able to obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG
  • Triage skills required
