Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a Level I Trauma Center in California. Requires 2 years ED experience, TNCC/ATCS certifications, and active CA RN license.

Work a night shift (3x12), 1:4 staffing, and manage care across trauma, cardiac, neuro and pediatric cases. Epic SBAR/Omnicell are used; travel housing and licensure reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission.
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, TNCC, and ATCS (or ATCN).
• Epic charting system experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a high-volume Emergency Department with an average daily census of 130 patients.
• 52 beds/rooms serving neonates to geriatrics.
• 1:4 patient staffing ratio.
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours (18:00–06:30).
• Self-scheduling model with every other weekend coverage (6 shifts per contract).
• Uses Omnicell, Epic, and SBAR unit systems.
• Provide emergency care across trauma, cardiac, neuro, and pediatric cases in a Level I Trauma Center.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level I Trauma Center with 2 years of ED experience and TNCC/ATCS certifications required.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, TNCC, and ATCS (or ATCN)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Experience in General ED, Pediatric ED, and STEMI/Stroke Certified facility settings required
• Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Skilled in arterial and central line management
• Skilled in blood product administration and phlebotomy/IV starts
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors
• Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Experience with CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI care
• Experience with ortho-trauma and pediatric trauma cases (head injury, near drowning, spinal cord injury)
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP and ventilated patient care
• Skilled in ABG interpretation
• Experience treating gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
