American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level III trauma center in New Mexico. The role requires at least 2 years of RN experience, and certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.

ADN is required for RN education, with trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation care skills essential. The ED operates 48 beds, with team nursing and pod system support, shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, and no call or floating requirements.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NM or Compact).
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (AHA-issued) certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience; ED experience preferred.
• ADN required for RN education.
• Competent in trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation care.

Responsibilities

• Level III trauma center ED with 48 beds and flex space.
• Patient ratios: 4:1 in main ED; 6:1 in Fast Track.
• Team nursing and pod system with social worker and unit educator support.
• Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM; minimum two weekends per schedule.
• No call and no floating requirements.
• Uses Cerner EHR and operates Zoll defibrillator and other equipment.
• Treats adult patients including ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, CHF, abdominal and chest pain.
• Trauma Level I–III cases may be flown into the facility.

• Must have skills in trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation care

Responsibilities

• Level III trauma center emergency department with 48 beds plus flex space
• Patient ratios of 4:1 in the main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track
• Team nursing and pod system with dedicated social worker and unit educator support
• Shift schedule of 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Minimum of two weekends required per schedule
• No call requirements
• No floating requirements
• Uses Cerner EHR
• Equipment includes Zoll defibrillator, Level One blood transfuser, QinFlow blood warmer, Hospira Plum360, Freestyle and iStat POC testing, and ultrasound-guided IV placement
• Treats adult patient population including ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, and psychiatric cases
• Provide emergency care for a wide range of conditions including substance abuse disorders, psychological disorders, COPD, CHF, abdominal pain, and chest pain
• Various Trauma Level I, II, and III cases may be flown into the facility due to its regional location
• Supports a 198-bed hospital offering medical, surgical, and rehabilitation services along with specialty units
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
