American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced ER Registered Nurse for a Level II Trauma Center in Washington.

Candidates must hold a WA license with compact eligibility and have current BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC/NIHSS/CPI/MOAB certifications, plus 1+ year ED experience. Responsibilities include caring for a diverse patient population with 140–150 daily visits, 12-hour night shifts, and a 1:4 ratio (1:5 for lower acuity).

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license in good standing.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB.
• 1+ year of ED experience in a high-volume facility.

Responsibilities

• Level II Trauma Center with Level IV NICU, 60 beds incl. 21 inpatient holding, 2 psych rooms, 14 hall spaces.
• Average of 140–150 patients per day in a high acuity receiving facility.
• Patient population from pediatrics to geriatrics; cases include trauma, GSW, sepsis, COVID, STEMI, stroke, DKA, mental health, adult psych, chest pain, respiratory issues.
• Patient ratio 1:4, flexing to 1:5 for lower acuity patients.
• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week; weekend rotation every other weekend.
• No on-call requirements; no floating; central and bedside telemetry monitoring; no tele tech support.
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis system; support on unit includes ER tech, charge nurse, resource/float nurse, RT 24/7, ED educator, security 24/7, house supervisor 24/7, pharmacy 24/7.
• Orientation includes NEO on day one and meeting with educator, followed by 3–4 twelve-hour shifts with a preceptor.
• Shift patterns may switch to day/mid or night/mid during contract but remain consistent for each 6-week block.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level II Trauma Center emergency department, requiring 1+ year of strong ED experience and WA/compact RN licensure.

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and CPI/MOAB
• Must complete and pass Traveler Telemetry Competency Exam prior to start
• 1+ year of strong ED experience required
• General ED skills including cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, procedural sedation, blood administration, and cardiac medication administration
• Epic EMR experience required

• Support on the unit includes ER tech, charge nurse, resource/float nurse, RT 24/7, ED educator, security 24/7, house supervisor 24/7, and pharmacy 24/7
• Orientation includes NEO on day one (badge, Epic training if needed) and meeting with the educator, followed by 3-4 twelve-hour shifts with a preceptor on assigned shift
• Day/mid or night/mid shifts may switch during the contract but remain consistent for each 6-week block
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed but efforts are made to accommodate staff preferences
• Up to 5 days of time off may be approved during the contract
• Holiday coverage required for 3 of 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Any professional scrub color is acceptable
• Piercings limited to modest studs only, and tattoos must not be offensive
• Free parking available in designated areas
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
