Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level II Trauma Center experience and a CT or compact RN license.

The role supports a Combined Adult/Pediatric ED in a Level II Trauma Center, with a 1:4 patient ratio, night shift, and 4x12-hour scheduling. Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility; local travelers may have lower rates.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, PALS, and TNCC.
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience in Level I/II trauma facility.
• Level II Trauma Center experience required.
• Triage, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs.
• Experience with blood product administration.
• Neurological and CVA patient care experience.
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management.
• Able to obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG.
• Cerner charting experience preferred.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department in a Level II Trauma Center.
• Inner city ED serving adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30.
• 36 or 48-hour schedules accepted.
• Every other weekend coverage required.
• Uses Accudose and Omnicell medication systems.
• Documents in Cerner.
• Utilizes SBAR communication system.
• Unit accepts first-time travelers.
• Provide emergency care to a diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics in an inner-city ED setting.
• Perform triage and manage patients requiring cardiac monitoring and emergency intervention.
• Dark blue scrubs required.
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility, though local candidates are accepted at a lower bill rate.
• References required for consideration.
