Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced ER RN for a 13-week travel assignment in California with night/day rotating shifts. CA RN licensure and a minimum of 2 years ED experience are required, including travel nursing experience.

The role covers adult and pediatric emergencies in a general ED with potential cross-campus float. Active CA RN license and certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS) are required.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a 13-week night/day rotating shift assignment requiring CA RN licensure and at least 2 years of ED experience.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Preferred charge nurse experience
• Preferred Epic EMR experience
• Skilled in pediatric and adult emergency care including trauma, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and cardiac emergencies
• Proficient in triage, IV therapy, EKG interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
• Copies of all certifications required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• 13-week assignment with variable 3x12 shifts ranging from 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 3p-3a, and 7p-7a
• Every other weekend rotation required with no on-call obligations
• Float to other campuses within the health system for support when census permits, within scope of practice
• STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provide competent, compassionate, and cost-effective patient care in accordance with evidence-based nursing practice and hospital standards
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate consideration
• Returning employees must have a one-year separation before returning as a travel RN
• No RTO permitted during this contract; max RTO on future contracts is 7 days with only 1 holiday request allowed per contract
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this role due to travel experience requirement
