Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a non-trauma ED in California. Candidate must hold an active California RN license in-hand, with ACLS, BLS, CPI Blue Card, NIHSS and PALS certifications, travel experience, and one year of charge nurse and acute care experience.

EPIC EMR experience is required. The assignment runs day shifts, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with a 1:4 patient ratio.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted).
• Required certifications in-hand: ACLS, BLS, CPI Blue Card, NIHSS, PALS.
• Minimum 1 year of charge nurse experience.
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience.
• Minimum 1 year of full-time equivalent specialty experience within past two years.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Prior travel experience required.
• Two supervisor references required at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Non-Trauma Emergency Department setting.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• EPIC EMR experience required and must be noted in work history.
• Treats patients across pediatrics, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, trauma, and orthopedic conditions.
• Care for patients presenting with a wide range of emergency conditions including trauma, psychiatric crises, respiratory distress, and pediatric emergencies.
• Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and procedural sedation monitoring as needed.
• Locals accepted at the same pay rate as travelers.
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least one year to be eligible as a traveler.
• No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days of RTO preferred per 13-week contract.
