Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 65-bed pod-based ED near Boston. The role requires a MA RN license and at least 2 years of ED nursing experience, with EPIC charting and UKG/Kronos timekeeping in use.

The position offers night/evening shifts, travel and licensure reimbursements, housing allowance, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance from day one. Local candidates within 60 miles of Boston preferred.

Qualifications

• Active MA RN license required; conditional or pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Nursing experience required
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• TNCC and NRP certifications strongly preferred
• Strong assessment, documentation, IV therapy, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education
• Primary source license verification via NURSYS and Board of Nursing within 30 days of start and upon expiration

Responsibilities

• 65-bed pod-based Emergency Department with a separate pediatric pod and a separate Acute Mental Health area
• All-ages patient population with approximately 230 visits per day
• Clinician to patient ratio of 1:4
• Uses EPIC (ASAP module) for charting
• 36 or 48 hour schedules with Day/Eve/Night rotation and EOW requirements
• Day Rotate shifts include 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a with low rotation frequency on request
• Night shift position does not rotate
• Floating required to ED Observation wing and AMU (ED Psych OBs)
• Free on-site parking available
• Provide emergency nursing care across broad patient population including pediatric and acute mental health patients
• Flu vaccine required during flu season with no exemptions allowed
• Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of the facility in Boston
• Uses UKG/Kronos for timekeeping
