Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an ED RN for a 65-bed Emergency Department on night shift with every-other-weekend rotation. Must have 2+ years of ED experience and an active MA RN license.

Responsibilities include working a night schedule, utilizing Epic EMR, and floating to ED Observation and AMU as needed. Local candidates within 60 miles of Boston preferred.

Qualifications

• Active MA RN license required; NURSYS and BON primary source verification.
• AHA certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.
• TNCC and NRP certifications strongly preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Nursing experience.
• Proficient in ED nursing skills including assessment, documentation, IV insertion, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education.
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions accepted.

Responsibilities

• 65-bed ED, pod-based, with a separate pediatric pod and separate Acute Mental Health area.
• All patient population with an average census of 230 visits/day.
• Clinician to patient ratio of 1:4.
• Night shift schedule (7:00 PM-7:30 AM) with every other weekend required.
• Uses Epic EMR (ASAP module).
• Floating required to the ED Observation wing (16 beds) and AMU (ED Psych OBs).
• Low-frequency day shift rotation may be requested; night position itself does not rotate.
• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care across adult, pediatric, and behavioral health patient populations.
• Free on-site parking available.
• Local candidates accepted; local status defined as permanent residence within 60 miles of the facility in Boston.
• RTO must be identified at time of consideration.
