Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a fast-paced community hospital Emergency Department requiring MA licensure and night shift availability.

The role involves caring for patients of all ages in a high-volume ED, with a sizable census and a 3x12 hour night shift schedule. Cerner/Omnicell experience and strong ECG monitoring skills are valued. Travel and housing allowances are provided.

Qualifications

• Active MA RN license in hand.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience.
• Cerner charting experience preferred but not required.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Experience with respiratory care, IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line care.
• Experience managing cardiac dysrhythmias and interpreting cardiac monitoring.
• Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE.
• Pediatric emergency department experience preferred.
• Experience with CVA management, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Treat all age groups in a community hospital ED.
• Average daily census 130-150; 21 rooms, 31 beds.
• Patient ratio 1:4-5.
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:00).
• Weekend coverage every other Friday and Saturday night.
• Operate Omnicell medication dispensing system.
• Document in Cerner.
• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of patient acuities and ages.
• Scrubs provided.
• Orientation length 36-48 hours.
• First-time travelers with 2-3 years experience and Epic or Cerner may be considered.
• Travelers must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler at this facility.
