Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced ER RN for a night-shift travel assignment in Oregon. The role requires an active OR RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, Epic EMR experience, and a minimum of two years of ER nursing background.

The position features 3x12-hour nights, 7pm-7am, with 4:1 patient ratios and occasional unit float. Candidates must be willing to commit to major holidays and travel within a 50-mile radius; Providence history disclosure is required.

Qualifications

• Active OR RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required; NIHSS and TNCC preferred.
• Minimum 2 years ER RN experience; first-time travelers welcome with 3+ years.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Compact RN license must be in hand at submission.
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years.
• Must disclose any prior Providence employment history.
• Experience with triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management and 12-lead EKG.

Responsibilities

• Emergency department Level II trauma center serving adult and pediatric patients.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00.
• Work is 4:1 patient ratio with opportunities to float to other units.
• No on-call requirements and use of Epic EMR system.
• Provide emergency care for trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological and psychiatric cases.
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy and management of ventilated or sedated patients.
• Must have a personal vehicle and commit to 3 of 5 major holidays.
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront; 50-mile radius travel rule applies.
• Former staff must wait 3 months before returning as traveler.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ER RN experience required; first-time travelers considered with 3+ years of experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Compact RN license must be in hand at time of submission
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required
• Must disclose any prior employment history with Providence facilities
• Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Responsibilities

• Level II Trauma Center emergency department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
• 4:1 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units and sister facilities based on skill set and unit needs
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
• Perform procedures such as IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of ventilated or sedated patients
• Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
• Local candidates accepted at lower bill rate; radius rule of 50 miles applies
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months and reside outside a 50-mile radius before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers welcome if they meet minimum experience requirements
• Any color scrubs accepted for this unit
