Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department travel assignment at a Level II Trauma Center in South Carolina. Requires 2 years ER experience and BLS/ACLS/PALS certification. Night shifts are 19:00–07:00, 3x12-hour shifts, 13-week assignment.

Open to first-time travelers who meet requirements. Travel, licensure, housing and per diem benefits provided. Active SC or compact RN license is required (or pending with prior authorization).

Qualifications

• Active SC or compact RN license required (pending license accepted, must obtain prior to starting)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; PALS also required
• Minimum 2 years ER experience preferred (1 year considered case-by-case)
• Must pass Cardiac Dysrhythmia and Moderate Sedation tests on first day with one attempt only

Responsibilities

• ER care for an adult/pediatric population in a Level II Trauma Center
• Handle trauma cases including gunshot wounds and amputations
• Maintain patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• 13-week assignment length
• On-call requirements: either 1 holiday with 2 on-call/additional shifts per 6 weeks, or 2 holidays with no on-call/additional shifts
• Epic charting system used for documentation
• Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma and general ER cases
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• All RTO must be submitted with initial application; SRHS staff not eligible to return as travelers
• Attendance policy: missing more than two shifts per 13 weeks may trigger contract review/cancellation
• First-time travelers may be considered

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center requiring 2 years of ER experience and BLS/ACLS/PALS certification.

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required (pending license accepted, must obtain prior to starting)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS also required
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience preferred, 1 year considered on a case-by‑case basis
• Must pass Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test and Moderate Sedation Test on first day of orientation with only one attempt allowed
• Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients preferred
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line care/management required
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors required
• Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Proficiency in isolation precautions/PPE and triage preferred
