Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Dept RN for a night shift position in California. Requires an active CA RN license, ACLS, BLS, PALS, CPI Blue Card, and Epic EMR proficiency. Assignment features 3x12 hour nights (18:00-06:30) with potential mid shifts and a 1:4 patient ratio.

Two supervisor references are required, with travel nursing experience preferred. Housing allowance, benefits, and licensure reimbursements are offered to support travelers.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license in hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, CPI Blue Card
• BSN preferred
• Minimum 1 year ER experience
• Epic EMR experience required and reflected in work history
• Two supervisor references required at time of application
• Pediatric emergency care, triage, cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, respiratory support, neurological and psychiatric emergency management, and administration of emergency medications

Responsibilities

• Work in a Non-Trauma Emergency Department at a Stroke Certified facility
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:00-06:30)
• May occasionally work a mid shift (11-11, 1-1, or 3-3)
• Provide emergency nursing care across acute presentations including trauma, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, and pediatric cases
• Triage, cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and splint application among other ER duties
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Previously employed staff must have been separated for at least one year to return as a traveler
• RTO requests must be confirmed with a screenshot at time of application; no RTO within first two weeks; max 7 days per 13-week contract
• Prior travel nursing experience is required
