Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced ER travel nurse for a combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department in North Carolina.

The role features an evening shift (3x12s), a 13-week assignment, and patient ratios around 1:4 to 1:5, with Epic EMR usage across a broad trauma, cardiac, neuro, and ortho caseload. The ideal candidate has 2+ years ER experience, NC or Compact RN license, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS, plus trauma and pediatric crash competencies.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC or Compact)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, PALS, and NIHSS (TNCC preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Epic EMR experience
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with blood product administration and central line care
• Experience managing ventilated patients and interpreting ABGs
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with trauma cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and ortho trauma
• Experience with pediatric emergencies including head injury, near drowning, and spinal cord injury
• Experience with isolation precautions, PPE, and triage

Responsibilities

• Work in a combined adult/pediatric general Emergency Department
• Evening shift, 3x12 hours (3:00 PM - 3:00 AM)
• 13-week assignment
• Patient ratios of 1:4 with possibility of 1:5 depending on volume
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide emergency nursing care across a broad range of adult and pediatric trauma, cardiac, neurological, and orthopedic cases
• Facility performs its own pre-employment drug screen upon arrival in addition to standard credentialing requirements
• Candidates residing in Moore County are not eligible for this travel position, though all other local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Previous employees of the health system must have been separated from employment for at least 1 year to be considered
