Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER Registered Nurse for a 10-week winter coverage contract at a Level II Trauma Center in Connecticut. The role covers adult and pediatric emergency care on day shifts, with 3x12-hour shifts (0700–1930) and every-other-weekend requirements.

The ideal candidate holds CT license (or Compact), ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and has at least 2 years in emergency care. Travel nurses welcome; on-site parking provided; EPIC charting used; housing and licensure

Qualifications

• Active CT RN license (or Compact) required.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC.
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required.
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and cardiac monitoring.
• Experience with central line care/management and starting/maintaining IVs; vasopressor administration.
• Experience managing CPAP/BiPAP and ventilated patients.
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage.
• One professional reference required.
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted; COVID vaccine and booster required with exemptions only.

Responsibilities

• Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients.
• Level II Trauma Center within a short-term acute care hospital setting.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (0700-1930).
• Required to work every other weekend.
• Floating required as needed.
• Uses EPIC charting system.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and cardiac monitoring
• Experience with central line care/management and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience administering IV vasopressors
• Experience managing CPAP/BiPAP and ventilated patients
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• One professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious/medical exemptions only

Responsibilities

• Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• Level II Trauma Center within a short-term acute care hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (0700-1930)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required as needed
• Uses EPIC charting system
• 10-week contract specifically for winter coverage
• Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a Level II Trauma Center
• No holiday RTO permitted for this contract
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed
• Must be available to start by 12/18/2026
• Local radius restrictions are waived for this specific 10-week assignment
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
• Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
