Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an ER RN for a Level II Trauma Center in Connecticut. The role supports combined adult and pediatric emergency care with a CT/compact RN license and TNCC certification. You will work nights, 3x12s, and may float as needed in a Yale New Haven Health System facility.

The ideal candidate has ER experience, CPR-related certs (BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC), and strong dysrhythmia and IV/central line skills. Travel and housing allowances are provided.

Qualifications

• Active CT or compact RN license.
• Minimum 2 years ER experience.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.
• Experience managing dysrhythmias.
• Central line care and IV start/maintenance.
• Vasopressor administration.
• Respiratory care skills including CPAP/BiPAP and ventilated patient care.
• Isolation precautions and triage.

Responsibilities

• Treat combined adult and pediatric patients in a General Emergency Department.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM).
• Work every other weekend.
• Floating required as needed.
• Uses EPIC charting system.
• Level II Trauma Center setting.
• Provide emergency nursing care across a combined adult and pediatric patient population.
• Facility is part of the Yale New Haven Health System.
• Free parking available on site.
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted; COVID vaccine and booster required with exemptions only.
• First-time travelers will be considered; returning perm staff must have been separated for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler.
• RTO of up to 7 days can be auto-approved.
• Residents within 75-mile radius are not eligible unless local rate is accepted.
