Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN with Level I Trauma experience for a 36-hour night shift assignment in Texas. A TX or compact RN license and travel experience are required. The role involves serving a Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department with a 36-hour night shift, Epic EMR usage, and care across adult/pediatric trauma cases.

Housing allowance and travel reimbursements are provided. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC, with a minimum of 2 years ER

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required.
• Prior travel experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric populations.
• 36-room unit with a 1:4 patient ratio.
• 36-hour night shift schedule (3x12 hours).
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric cases.
• Perform triage and apply isolation precautions/PPE protocols.
• Support ortho trauma cases as needed.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with Level I Trauma experience for a 36-hour night shift assignment requiring TX or compact RN license and prior travel experience.

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Preferred experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
• Preferred experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, and ABG interpretation
• Preferred experience with IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, and continuous IV sedation
• Preferred neuro/trauma experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Preferred experience with shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Preferred pediatric trauma experience including head injury and near-drowning
• Preferred experience with cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Preferred charge nurse, teaching hospital, community hospital, and LTAC experience

Responsibilities

• Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric populations
• 36-room unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
• 36-hour night shift schedule (3x12 hours)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Facility is STEMI and Stroke certified
• Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric cases
• Perform triage and apply isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Support ortho trauma cases as needed
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Previous perm staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
