American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Illinois. The role requires a BSN and an active Illinois RN license, with BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Candidates should have at least 1 year of ER experience and 2 years in a charge RN role.

Responsibilities include treating adult and pediatric patients in a General ER, triage, and 12-lead ECG, with a 1:4 patient ratio. Evening shifts are 3x12 hours (15:00-03:00) and weekend coverage; no on-call.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license required.
• BSN degree required.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year ER experience.
• 2 years charge RN experience.
• References: 2 incl. supervisor/charge RN within last year.

• Disclose prior health-system employment history.

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in hand required; emergency or pending licenses not accepted
• BSN required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS through AHA; PALS also required
• 1 year of direct ER experience required
• 2 years of charge RN experience
• Skills checklist and 2 references required, with one reference from a Supervisor, Manager, or Charge RN within the last year
• All RTO must be submitted at time of consideration and cannot be added afterward

Responsibilities

• Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patients
• 1:4 patient ratio
• Epic charting system experience required
• Evening shift, 3x12 hours (15:00-03:00)
• Weekend requirement
• No on‑call responsibilities
• May be subject to floating between facilities within the health system if requested by the unit
• Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including psychiatric, pediatric, respiratory, neurological, cardiac, and orthopedic presentations
• Perform triage and obtain 12‑lead EKG/ECG as part of routine duties
• Administer emergency medications and manage IV therapy including starting and maintaining IVs
• Work in a facility within a larger health system; employment history with the health system, if applicable, must be disclosed
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
