Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Night Shift RN for our Emergency Department with Level I Trauma ED experience. IL RN license and current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications are required.

The role involves triage, IV therapy, EKG interpretation, and care for adult and pediatric trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and behavioral health cases on a 3x12 hour night schedule. Epic EMR is used for charting; housing and travel support provided.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• Minimum 1-2 years RN experience.
• Prior experience in an urban Level I Trauma ED required.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS.
• Preferred certifications: TNCC and CPI.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Epic charting experience preferred.
• Skills include trauma/shock care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, triage, IV therapy, respiratory support, and neuro/psychiatric emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric populations.
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30).
• Floating required.
• Every other weekend required.
• Epic EMR used for charting.
• Provide emergency care for a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and behavioral health cases.
• Triage, IV therapy, EKG interpretation, splinting, and infection control using PPE and isolation precautions.

• Former UChicago Medicine, PRN, or Ingalls staff must have a 7-month break in employment before returning as a traveler
