Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Emergency Department RN for a Level IV Trauma Center. Requires active RN license (Compact), ACLS/BLS/PALS, 1 year ER experience, and Epic charting proficiency. TNCC preferred and trauma experience is advantageous.

Night or evening 3x12 shifts available; working some major holidays will be required. Travel-friendly position with housing and licensure support offered.

Responsibilities

  • 60-bed facility with adult/pediatric ER population.
  • Maintain patient ratios of 1:4; night or evening shifts; 3x12s; holidays worked.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a Level IV Trauma Center with at least 1 year of ER experience and Epic charting skills.


Requirements
  • Active RN license (Compact must be in hand at submission)
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS
  • TNCC preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Community Hospital experience preferred
  • Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and 12-lead EKG preferred
  • Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
  • Must have a vehicle for this assignment

Responsibilities
  • Work in a Short Term Acute Care, Level IV Trauma Center Emergency Department
  • 60-bed facility with general combined adult/pediatric ER population
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift (3x12, 19:00-7:00) or Evening shift (3x12, 14:00-2:00) variable schedule
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating to other units and sister facilities based on skill set required
  • Epic EMR used for charting
  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including pediatrics, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and orthopedic cases
  • Administer emergency medications and IV vasopressors, and assist with procedural sedation monitoring
  • Manage ventilated patients and BiPAP/CPAP as needed
  • Scrubs may be any color; business casual accepted for CNA/MLT staff
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
  • Local candidates accepted at lower bill rate
  • Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
