Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift travel assignment in North Carolina. Requires NC or compact RN license and at least 2 years of ED experience. Certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and Epic EMR proficiency are required.

Night schedule is 3x12s (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with weekend coverage and potential travel to other campuses within the system. Candidates must reside >50 miles away; EKG skills and central line care are a plus.

Qualifications

Active NC or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration.
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience.
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
Epic EMR experience required.

Responsibilities

General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients.
Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
Work 2 weekend shifts or 4 weekend days per 6-week period; holiday coverage as needed.
May float to any campus within the health system; uses Epic EMR.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring a NC or compact RN license and at least 2 years of ED experience.

Requirements

Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Preferred certifications: CPI, PALS, TNCC
Epic EMR experience required
Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
Experience with blood product administration and central line care/management
Experience with EKG/dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Preferred experience: Charge RN role and Level II Trauma Center setting
Preferred skills: arterial line management, ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, triage, and ortho trauma
Must pass a compliance EKG exam (pass/fail, two attempts allowed)
Current driver's license required to verify address

Responsibilities

Patient ratios of 1:4-5 depending on staffing and volume
Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Required to work 2 weekend shifts or 4 weekend days per 6-week period
Holiday coverage required as needed
No call responsibilities
May float to any campus within the health system
Uses Epic EMR system
Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and orthopedic cases
Work within isolation precautions and PPE protocols
