Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Dept RN for a night shift, serving both adult and pediatric patients. The role requires NC or compact RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS/PALS, and a minimum of 2 years ER experience with Epic charting. Travel housing and licensure reimbursements are offered.

Responsibilities include 3x12 night shifts, 1:5 patient ratio, and floating to Cone Health campuses as needed. STEMI/Stroke facility experience is preferred.

• Work 2 of 4 holidays with minimal RTO.
• First-time travelers welcome.
• Residents must live at least 50 miles from the facility.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Dept RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required; TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with arterial line management and interpretation of ABGs preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Experience in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• STEMI and Stroke certified facility experience preferred

Responsibilities

• General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• 1:5 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-730a
• Every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Floating required to any Cone Health campus as needed
• Uses Epic EMR
• Care for emergency patients presenting with trauma, gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, head injuries, spinal cord injuries, and cardiac emergencies
• Must work 2 out of 4 holidays with minimal holiday RTO
• All RNs must pass a compliance EKG exam with up to two attempts allowed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
