Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a high-acuity Level II trauma center in Washington. Requires ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS certifications and Epic EMR proficiency, with a WA license in-hand at review.

The role features 4x12 hour evening shifts (14:30-03:00), weekend coverage, and floating to sister facilities. Strong nursing skills in critical care, IV therapy, ventilator care, and airway management are essential.

Qualifications

• Active WA RN license in hand at review
• Minimum 2 years ED experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC certifications
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and central line care
• BiPAP/CPAP management and ventilated patient care
• Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Triage and PPE procedures familiarity
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year in last 3 years
• Must provide full SSN and DOB for consideration

Responsibilities

• Treat a wide range of ED patients, from low to high acuity, including stroke and trauma
• Work at Level II adult and Level III pediatric trauma centers
• Provide care during 4x12 hour evening shifts (14:30-03:00)
• Cover weekend shifts and travel to nearby facilities as needed
• Utilize Epic EMR for all charting and orders
• Provide emergency nursing care across trauma, stroke, STEMI, and behavioral health
• Ensure appropriate PPE use and isolation precautions
• Assist with patient discharge planning and family education
• Maintain scrubs policy and facility parking arrangements
• Travelers with 2+ ED years are welcome
• Adhere to holiday coverage expectations
• Disclose prior Providence facility history when applicable

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a high-acuity Level II trauma center requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications along with Epic experience.

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Skills in BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Experience managing critically ill patients and behavioral health de-escalation
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Large Emergency Department treating patients ranging from low acuity to high acuity, including stroke, STEMI, trauma, critically ill, and behavioral health cases
• Level II adult trauma center and Level III pediatric trauma center
• Primary stroke receiving center with thrombectomy capability and STEMI receiving center
• Evening shift, 4x12 hours (14:30-03:00)
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating required, including to sister facilities near the contracted site
• Epic EMR used and required
• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of acuities including trauma, stroke, STEMI, and behavioral health patients
• Scrubs of any color permitted except reddish orange
• Parking is facility paid
• First-time travelers considered if they have at least 2 years of ED experience
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront; post-offer time off requests may not be accommodated
• Local candidates not accepted
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility as a permanent employee, traveler, or per-diem staff
