Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position in Michigan. Active MI licensure and 2+ years ER experience required. BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC required; NRP preferred.

Travel nursing experience highly preferred. Epic EMR used; Navy blue scrubs; duties include triage, assessments, and life-threatening care when needed. Position requirement includes 12-hour night shifts, 39-bed ED, two weekends per month, no on-call, and a generous benefits package with

• 2+ years ER experience required.
• Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association).
• Active TNCC certification required.
• NRP certification highly preferred.
• Travel nursing experience highly preferred.
• Skills checklist pertinent to ER specialty, current within 1 year, required.
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including triage, history-taking, vital signs, and patient assessments.
• Initiate immediate care independently in life-threatening situations when a physician is not present.
• Perform complex and simple nursing procedures and assist physicians with procedures.
• Provide discharge instructions and follow-up care guidance to patients and families.
• Respond to ambulance radio calls and provide pre-hospital care orders independently.
• Work with sophisticated equipment in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• Assignment includes coverage for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve.

Responsibilities

• 39-bed hospital emergency department providing emergency, primary, surgical, and specialty care
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts
• Two weekends per month required
• No on‑call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR
• Navy blue scrub dress code
• Provides direct patient care including triage, history‑taking, vital signs, and patient assessments
• Initiates immediate care independently in life‑threatening situations when a physician is not present
• Performs complex and simple nursing procedures and assists physicians with procedures
• Provides discharge instructions and follow‑up care guidance to patients and families
• Responds to ambulance radio calls and provides pre‑hospital care orders independently
• Works with sophisticated equipment in a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment
• Assignment includes coverage for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve
• Must reside outside a 50‑mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Maximum of 5 days of requested time off during the assignment
