Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a CA RN license, EPIC experience, and ACLS/PALS certification. The role is in a 47-bed heart hospital with a day shift schedule and 36–48 hours per week.

Responsibilities include delivering coordinated nursing care, supervising staff, coordinating with other disciplines, and contributing to discharge planning, with vaccinations required and local candidates prioritized.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS/PALS certification required.
• Minimum three years ER experience with recent ER work within last three months.
• BSN preferred.
• Acute care facility experience preferred.
• No prior adverse licensure actions.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of a 47-bed specialty heart hospital with three operating rooms and four cardiac catheterization labs.
• Day shift schedule, 36 or 48 hours per week, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM.
• EPIC experience required.
• One holiday off approved, with the other holiday required to be worked.
• Deliver coordinated nursing care using the nursing process for an assigned patient population.
• Supervise and direct nursing staff while coordinating care with other disciplines.
• Collect and analyze patient data to determine diagnoses and care plans.
• Implement care plans, coordinate care delivery, and promote a safe healing environment.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members in providing care.
• Provide patient and family education and participate in discharge planning.
• Delegate tasks appropriately among healthcare team members.
• Required vaccinations as a condition of employment, with exemptions considered.
• Local candidates accepted with no radius rule; local rates match travel rates.
• Candidates with more than 5 days of requested time off will be automatically declined.
• Traveler may only be submitted to one hospital within the Adventist Health system at a time.
