American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Electrophysiology Lab position in Columbus, OH. The role requires EP lab experience and OH or compact RN licensure, along with BLS and ACLS. Shifts are 4x10 hours, Monday–Friday, with call obligations in rotation.

Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Electrophysiology Lab position requiring 2 years of EP lab experience and OH or compact RN licensure.

Details
  • Work in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab of a hospital setting
  • Performs specialized procedures including cardiac implant closure device, pacemaker/defibrillator lead extraction/removal, arrhythmia induction, cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, cardioversion, conduction studies, AICD insertion/programming, LAA closure, and pacemaker insertion
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday, 07:00-17:30
  • Participates in call rotation of one week of weekday call every two months and one weekend of call every two months
  • Weekday call runs 6:30 PM-7:00 AM following the regular shift with weekend call consisting of 24-hour coverage
  • Call-ins are primarily for pacemaker cases lasting approximately 2 hours with generally low call volume
Requirements
  • Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of EP Lab nursing experience required
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Nursing, Biology, or Chemistry required; if degree is in another field, a high school diploma must be provided
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Skilled in EP lab procedures including cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, arrhythmia induction, AICD insertion/programming, and LAA closure
  • Experience with activated clotting time (ACT), cardioversion, sheath removal/monitoring, and vascular closure systems preferred
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role and the second acceptable from a Charge RN; no coworker references accepted
Additional Information
  • Provides specialized nursing care for cardiac electrophysiology procedures including ablations, device implants, and mapping studies
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
  • Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible to be hired as a traveler
  • RTO must be submitted with the initial application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements urgently upon signing the contract, either by traveling to an in-state fingerprinting location or completing a mailed fingerprinting packet if located far from Ohio
