Job summary
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night-shift teaching hospital assignment in Columbus, OH. The role requires at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience and an active OH/compact RN license.
You will work 3x12-hour nights (19:00–7:30) in a teaching hospital with strong emphasis on cardiac monitoring, emergency readiness, and strict credentialing timelines. 13-week assignment with higher weekly pay for travel roles.
Qualifications
- Active Ohio (OH) or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE-accredited program
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response required
- Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams required
- Skilled in IV therapy and phlebotomy
- Experience with peripheral line care and management
- Experience with non-invasive airway management, nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
- Two professional references required, at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role and the second from a Charge RN
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg unit within a teaching hospital environment
- Utilize cardiac monitoring equipment and respond to emergencies using Rapid Response/Code teams
- Complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly after signing contract
- RTO requests submitted with contract and limited to 7 days or less
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
- Current employees not eligible for travel assignments at this health system
