Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced CVICU RN with travel experience for a cardiovascular ICU position in Texas. TX or compact RN license is required, along with BLS/ACLS and Epic charting proficiency.

The role features a 1:2 patient ratio, 3x12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and a generous housing allowance. Candidates must have at least 2 years in CVICU, prior travel nursing, and experience with ECMO, IABP, and complex cardio monitoring.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years CVICU experience preferred.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Experience with arterial line, central line, and PICC line management.
• Experience with cardiovascular care, ECMO, and nurse-driven ECMO protocols.
• Experience with IABP and Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring.
• Experience caring for post cardiac surgery patients (not directly from OR).
• Experience with ventilated patients and ABG interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a hospital setting.
• Patient ratio of 1:2.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Dark gray scrub color required.
• Candidates residing in certain counties will not be contracted.
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted.
• Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler.
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration.
• Travel pairs or groups not accepted.
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role.

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVICU RN with prior travel experience and TX or compact RN licensure for a cardiovascular intensive care position.

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, arterial line, central line, and PICC line management required
• Experience with cardiovascular care, ECMO, and nurse-driven ECMO protocols required
• Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) and Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring required
• Experience caring for post cardiac surgery patients (not directly from OR) required
• Experience with ventilated patients and interpretation of ABGs required
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and continuous IV sedation required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups not accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
