BSN preferred; ACEN/CCNE-accredited schooling accepted. 13-week assignment, 3x12h nights, 19:00–07:00, with orientation and background checks. Epic EMR proficiency is mandatory; candidates may float within scope.

Qualifications

• Active VA or compact RN license in hand at time of submittal.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum 1 year CVICU/CSICU experience at Level I facility (3+ years preferred).
• Epic charting system experience required.
• Experience with conscious sedation preferred.
• 2 professional references required (supervisor level or above).
• NURSYS or applicable license verification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiac surgery patients in the CVICU.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:00.
• 13-week assignment length.
• Epic EMR experience required, no exceptions.
• Candiates will float within scope of practice if needed.
• Complete orientation modules via Learning Exchange by end of orientation week.
• Maintain natural nail policy and drug-free workplace.

Responsibilities

• 13-week assignment length

• Candidates will float within scope of practice if needed
• Provide critical care nursing to cardiac surgery patients in the CVICU
• Complete required orientation modules via the facility's Learning Exchange, to be finished by Friday of orientation week
• Natural nail policy enforced at the facility
• Drug and tobacco-free workplace; smoking not permitted on campus
• Background check review conducted by the facility
• Former VCU Health employees (travelers or permanent staff) must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions
• RTO requests must be submitted in advance and approved by the unit manager; no time off granted during the first week of assignment; holidays are not guaranteed off
