American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU assignment in North Carolina. The role requires CVICU experience, an NC or Compact RN license, and BLS/ACLS with CCRN preferred.

The nurse will work night shifts, 36 guaranteed hours weekly, for a 13-week assignment at a Duke Lifepoint hospital’s CVICU unit. Responsibilities include care of adult and geriatric patients post CABG, TAVR, STEMI, and carotid interventions, with Impella, IABP, and CRRT equipment, charting in

• Strong critical thinking skills required
• Active Nursys licensure verification at time of consideration
• Copies of required certifications must be provided

Responsibilities

• Provide care for cardiovascular ICU patients, including CABG, TAVR, STEMI, and carotid interventions
• Unit is 8 beds on 2nd floor, with 2:1 patient ratios (occasional 1:1)
• Night shift 7:00 PM–7:00 AM; 36 guaranteed weekly hours over 13 weeks
• No on-call requirements; floating per scheduled rotation
• Charting performed in Cerner EHR

Responsibilities

• 355-bed Duke Lifepoint hospital with a Trauma Level 3 designation
• Cardiovascular ICU unit located on the 2nd floor with 8 beds
• Patient population includes adult and geriatric cases with diagnoses such as CABG, TAVR, STEMI, and Carotids
• Patient ratios of 2:1 with occasional 1:1
• Uses Impella, IABP, and CRRT equipment
• Charting performed in Cerner EHR
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed weekly hours over a 13-week assignment
• Weekend requirement of every other weekend or as needed to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required per scheduled rotation
• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients undergoing procedures such as CABG, TAVR, STEMI, and carotid interventions
• Scrubs of any professional color are acceptable
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
• Orientation requires starting on a specific scheduled date
